CELEBRATING
Worship
- Quality worship is a feature of Shaughnessy Heights
United Church (SHUC). The congregation gathers on
Sundays in the Sanctuary at 10:00 a.m. to worship
God and, be moved by special music of our Sanctuary
Choir, instrumental and vocal solos, ensembles, congregational
singing, and Bell Choirs. Children and youth participate
actively in parts of the service before going to their
own educational programs. Following worship we gather
in the hall for coffee and conversation.
- Occasionally, a "Second Hour" Sunday worship
is planned around issues of concern to SHUC participants
to help them learn and better understand the issue
and participate in discussion of its implications
for the congregation and community.
- Communion is celebrated several times each year,
often on a first Sunday of the month.
- The chapel is open as a place for prayer most of
the day unless otherwise occupied.
- The Labyrinth is a tool for prayer. It is located
in the gym and is available for meditation and prayer
daily by appointment.
