Janet Cawley
Interim Minister
The
Transition Team is pleased to announce the appointment
of Rev. Janet Cawley to the position of Interim Minister.
Janet's particular vocation in ministry
is to work with congregations in transition. She has
completed seven interim appointments, as well as a number
of other transitional ministries, and has a highly developed
skills for leading congregations in self-assessment,
renewal and re-development, as well as healing after
trauma and working through conflict. Janet believes
that each congregation is "the body of Christ"
(1 Cor. 12:27) and has all the gifts necessary to be
a faithful witness to the kingdom of God. Janet's commitment
to working with change in congregations has led her
to work with others to establish and teach a course
called "Building Skills in Transitional Ministry",
which prepares United Church clergy for Interim and
other transitional ministries. In the last year, while
on sabbatical, Janet has been working on the handbook
for this course, and a book of her own about the importance
of a true and realistic sense of identity as the base
for mission in congregations.

of Children, Youth and Families Minister on August 22,
2005.
Jacinto
lived in the Philippines for nine years, surrounded

of church leadership, beginning with his grandfather,
a minister, and his grandmother, a deaconess, and continuing
through his parents who led an empowering family ministry

life of the church. It was in this environment that
Jacinto developed the foundation of his faith. Throughout
his challenges in life Jacinto has always been reminded
