Care
Pastoral care by the ministers and members
is a vital and important priority of Shaughnessy Heights
United Church.
- The Lead Minister responds to all requests for pastoral
visits with those in hospitals, those confined temporarily
at home or those experiencing personal difficulties.
In addition, as time permits, he regularly visits
with congregational members in their homes or at their
places of work.
- The Children, Youth and Family Minister cares for
those involved in her programs and groups.
- A Pastoral Callers team of about 20 members reach
out to give support to members and adherents who can
no longer attend church services. Flowers are delivered
at Christmas time.
- Seniors' Lunches are held in the church Lounge most
months of the year.
- Memorial Services and teas are provided for those
members whom families are bereaved.
Shaughnessy Heights United Church
congregation is a Christian faith community — people
at various stages in the faith journey.
